FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are peptides? Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signalling molecules in biological systems. Melbourne Peptide Labs supplies lyophilised peptides strictly for in-vitro laboratory and research purposes.

Are your products for human use? No. All products sold by Melbourne Peptide Labs are strictly for research and laboratory use only. They are not intended for human or veterinary consumption.

What does lyophilised mean? Lyophilised (freeze-dried) means the peptide has had moisture removed to improve stability and shelf life. It must be reconstituted with Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) before use in a research setting.

How do I reconstitute a peptide? Use Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water). Draw the required volume into a syringe and inject slowly into the vial along the side wall. Do not shake — gently swirl until dissolved. Store reconstituted peptides refrigerated at 2–8°C.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)? A COA is a document from an independent third-party laboratory confirming the identity, purity, and quality of each batch. All Melbourne Peptide Labs products are third-party tested. View our COAs on the Lab Results page.

How should I store my peptides?

  • Lyophilised (unreconstituted): store at -20°C for long term, or 2–8°C for short term
  • Reconstituted: store at 2–8°C and use within 28 days
